Our love story began many years ago, during fourth grade recess on the playground of George Washington Elementary School. As kids, Suzie and Chris grew up just over a mile down the road from one another, and would sit together on the bus - sharing a set of ear buds to listen to their favorite songs on the ride to and from school every day. Going into their teenage years, Chris & Suzie's love continued to grow as crushes developed. Suzie became enamored with Chris in Mr. Brown's 10th grade French class, where she was too busy flirting with Chris and had to retake the course (she was better at Spanish anyway). On the other hand, Chris was captivated by the beauty and charisma of his dear friend Suzie - so much so, that he wrote an admittedly cringey love song about her, which he performed for her on his guitar in a desperate attempt at courtship. This love grew deeper and fuller through the years, but never came to pass as the timing was never quite right. Years later, after college, Suzie was finishing some spring cleaning and was looking to empty out an old nightstand so she could repaint it. The only issue was that the drawer wouldn't open, and try as she did, it would not budge. Finally, with a little willpower and some elbow grease, the drawer popped open, and out came the folded piece of paper that was jamming the drawer to begin with. As Suzie unfolded the paper, she found to her surprise (and delight) that it was the corny love song Chris had written and performed for her so many years before. While Chris and Suzie had remained in touch and saw each other frequently around holidays and in similar friend circles, this fateful event ultimately reignited the flame between Suzie and Chris. A first date soon turned into frequent weekend visits between Albany, NY and Greenpoint, Brooklyn - where Chris lived at the time. Both Chris and Suzie quickly realized that they had found the person they were destined to spend their life with, and began dating in the Spring of 2017. Five years later, Chris and Suzie had never been closer. They endured success, new jobs, new adventures, and new furry family members - but not without a healthy dose of loss, failure, and heartbreak to balance it all out. Nevertheless, on a crisp, sunny, Fall afternoon in October 2022, Chris and Suzie returned to Transmitter Park, Brooklyn, where the couple had shared a kiss after their first date. Overlooking the Manhattan skyline - and with the whole world in front of them - Chris got down on one knee and asked Suzie to marry him.
