Please plan to arrive by 11:30 AM for sufficient time to park and walk to the ceremony location.

Our ceremony location is Heinz Memorial Chapel in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Our reception venue is Just-in-Thyme Catering and Events in Gibsonia. This is about a 20 min drive from ceremony to reception venue.

Yes! We’ve reserved rooms at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Oakland. Mention the Smithmyer/Kocan wedding when booking to get the group rate!

If your invitation includes you and a guest, absolutely. If not, we still can’t wait to celebrate with just you! Please reach out if you have questions regarding your invitation.

If your invitation includes the addition of your child, yes. Otherwise, our event will be adults only. Thank you for understanding.

Where should I park?Where should I park?

Answer

Parking along S. Bellfield is limited for street parking and may also be utilized by the wedding party transportation and those with accessibility needs. Underground parking is available below Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, 4141 Fifth Avenue. There is also metered street parking along side streets around the University of Pittsburgh campus.

*PLEASE NO PHONES/CAMERAS DURING CEREMONY* Unfortunately, we kindly ask that only our photographers and content creator (who will have a phone) take photos during the ceremony to avoid unwanted phones and cameras in our professional photos. During the reception, all phones and candids are welcome!

100% Please let us know on your RSVP card and we will make necessary food accommodations for you. Our caterer is incredibly flexible. There will be vegan/vegetarian options as well.
