After matching on Bumble, we had our first date at Fink's on a chilly night in March. What was supposed to be one drink turned into two, and a few hours of great conversation turned into a series of dates around Milwaukee at our favorite cocktail spots, hiking trails, and beer gardens. By the time summer rolled around we were falling hard, and told each other after a beautiful day at the beach and a stop at Kopp's for custard and a burger.

After another beautiful beach day, Nick took Susan to the spot near the North Point Lighthouse, where we first admitted we were falling for each other. On the way we went down memory lane (literally), going by the apartment Nick lived in before we moved in together, through the UWM campus where Susan got her undergrad, and along the lakeshore which is already one of our favorite scenic drives. What Nick did not know while planning the proposal, was that this was the same day as the World Naked Bike Ride. As he turned the car down the road to the lighthouse, we noticed a large group of bikers coming our way. Then we realized they were naked. And a nude long boarder was weaving his way up the road toward us. Susan looked over at Nick, saw his face go white, and started laughing so hard that a few tears were shed. Thankfully, the bikers had passed by once Nick parked. After getting a few more giggles out, we walked into the park and Nick got down on one knee. You never know what curveballs life will throw at you, but we're so glad that we're going to do the rest of it together.
