How I heard of Susan

God's amazing plan!

My first time to hear of Susan was in January of 2018. She had been a close friend of Purity (my brother's wife) for many years. While Susan was at work there in Embu - Kenya, she learnt of the condition of my mom who was admitted due to physical complications in a private hospital in Embu through Purity. At one point while Purity was tending to my mom at the hospital, she had Susan to visit my mom with her. From that time, Susan would visit mom at times by herself. The most amazing thing was that during that period of visiting mom, they bonded to each other so much that my mom started referring to her as her daughter.. On January of 2018, as Purity was updating me on the status of my mom as usual from Kenya, she mentioned to me of her friend, Susan who had also gone to see mom with her at the hospital. My heart just desired to know about Susan and so I asked for her photo and contact. I called her and talked to her for the first time in January the 9th of 2018 while in the United States. I remember vividly, it was around 12:30 pm (US Time) Kenyan time 8:30 pm. Read more from other stories below..

Where & how we met

In Kenya, Africa

From the very first day we talked, Susan and I (Patrick) continued to communicate with each other using modern technology to our favor. It feels like we are on the same room instead of the actual 9000 miles separating us. We constantly call each other, e-mail and even WhatsApp each other via audio and video several times a day. On February 19th 2018 after a month of dating, I flew from the United States to visit my family, specifically my mother who was ailing. While in Kenya, I desired from my heart to meet Susan. It was during this time that we laid our eyes on each other for the first time. The first meeting happened in Pastor Angelo’s Home in Embu town. I liked what I saw and so did Susan. On February 23rd 2018, Susan and I had our first romantic date dinner 🥘 at Mountain View Restaurant in Embu. It was here where we shared our stories face to face. Patrick's first impression of Susan after he saw her, he says in his own words; "she is.. 1) Beautiful 2) Loves God 3) Genuine (real) 4) Humble 5) Kind 6) Beautiful voice 7) A generous giver 8) Exuberant During his visit period of almost 3 weeks, they both visited mom in the hospital often, prayed a lot together as well as did ministry together. It was a precious time of bonding. While he was there, he also got to meet her pastor in Embu town as well as her parents and the rest of the immediate family members who lives in Nairobi

Proposal in Africa

At an MCM church in Kenya, Africa

This was a moment I will never forget. God had already spoken to me about Susan being my future wife just before I made arrangement to travel to Kenya from the United States. Following the leading of the Lord, I prepared myself by faith and went ahead and bought the engagement ring. I carried the ring with me to Kenya from the United States. In the cause of the two and half weeks I was there, I spent a lot of time with her fellowshipping, praying and doing ministry together. I learnt a lot of her nature and character that I greatly admired and also came as a confirmation that she was the one to be my soulmate. We travelled together and visited some of our Missions for Christ Ministries (MCM) churches in Kenya Then the moment came where we were invited by pastor Angelo in the participation of launching another MCM church in a city in Kenya, called Chuka. After the church launching ceremony, Susan was called to the front of the church to give her testimony as well as her views on MCM ministry. This was a moment, I knew it was ripe moment to propose to her and place an engagement ring on her before the church as a sign of my commitment to her. I joined her to the front after her testimony, knelt and asked her for the hand of marriage. Obviously, no one expected that including her so the whole place erupted in celebrations of joy and laughter.. the rest is history. In the month of May 2018 (this year) my brother and several elders from my side of the family met with Susan's family including her mom and dad where they give us their blessings to proceed with wedding arrangements. I just love the style of Africa. (see photos)

My priority & commitment

My Heart To Susan With God's Help

1. To honor, respect and love her as Christ loves the church 2. To serve her as Christ serves the church 3. To protect her as my Heavenly Father protects His church 4. To provide for her as my Heavenly Father provides for us MY COMMITMENT AS THE HUSBAND 1. listen to her heart and cry and reason things together 2. offer advise within parameters of God’s Word. I believe- it is first God, then family and then ministry 3. desire for her to have the best because she represents my family in our community, nation and the world 4. contribute towards promoting her ministerial gifts so that together we can continue to promote the Kingdom of God putting God first in all of our endeavors

YES! God answered my prayer - She..

Everything for love

1. Fears and honors God and Jesus Christ as her personal savior 2. Honors and respects God's servants and does not talk against them 3. Is passionate for God’s plan and not man’s plan (The God’s agenda and NOT man’s agenda) 4. Embraces the vision that God has given me and is NOT divided in the vision 5. Does NOT worship the natural goods but yet values and take pride in what God has given us 6. Treasures what God has given me as I also treasure what God has given her 7. Is committed to forfeit all her aspirations to embrace God’s plan for our lives together as one 8. Is never swayed by people including family members from both sides by allowing them to divine and influence our life's BUT is instead totally dependent on God and the Holy Spirit for guidance - Listens to their views yes but the ultimate decision is always from our seeking and hearing God 9. Knows to go to our Heavenly Father for comfort and guidance when difficulties or challenges comes. This I sincerely discovered after much time of spending and praying together 10. Understands that God as our Heavenly Father will become and continue to be our only source, counselor, comforter and friend above all man. We shall NEVER seek the counsel of man before we have consulted the council of God YES.. GLORY TO GOD! I can boldly say, "I have found the one whom my soul loves.." Song of Solomon 3:4
