Met - March 2nd 2023 1st Date - May 26th 2023 Fell in Love - November 26th 2023 Engaged - November 26th 2024 Married - September 26th 2025
We have known of each other for several years, but the timing never aligned. One day in the spring of 2023 Ethan was at the Chick-fil-A Office in downtown Victoria doing some marketing work for us. I saw him. He saw me. All it took was him saying "Oh hey!" and I was SMITTEN. It took two days of seeing him working around the office before I mustered up the courage to message him on Facebook. The conversation went like this: M: Hey, would you ever wanna get coffee sometime? E: I don't drink coffee. M: But I do...I am also open to lunch or other ideas. I made the first move and the ball was now in his court. He took a day or two to think on it. He wanted to be strictly friends and I was fine with that because I knew he would fall in love with me eventually... low and behold... HE DID! :) We never got coffee, instead, a day later he asked me to go watch cocaine bear (dumb movie) with him at the movie theatre. It was very much not a date. But I didn't care, I was just so happy to get to spend time with him! From that day on we spoke everyday...as just friends, of course. It took about 2-3 months of being just friends for him to grow into the idea of dating me, and I had a little more growing to do before we took the jump... but finally the time arrived! We had our first date May 26th. Six months later, November 26th we exchanged our first "I Love You's" and now will be married on September 26th. If there is one thing I love most about Ethan, it is how intentional he is. He never fails to meet myself and others exactly where they are. He pushes you to do and be better. He is gentle and kind. He has a heart of gold and is wise beyond his years. He is an observer and my biggest supporter. He is loyal and a leader. He is thoughtful and level headed. He is everything that I ever imagined, but never thought I would actually get the honor to experience firsthand.
We had known each other for a few years through different church things, and after a while had reconnected because of our jobs. It was just hello’s and nothing more. I had a feeling she was interested in me but me being the quiet person I am, wasn’t sure what to even say to her. Luckily, she made the first move. And although I wanted to take things slow and be friends first, it didn’t take long for me to realize she was in fact obsessed with me...but that I was becoming obsessed with her too. Within two months I asked her out on an official date and to be my girlfriend. And six months later I said I love you with the help of a video as seen above. Although we didn’t get engaged until a year later, I was ready to marry her when I said I love you. The way she loves me and takes care of me is something I have never experienced before. She makes me want to be the man I’m supposed to be and always known I could be. I’m so grateful and excited to love her, to guide her, to encourage her, to listen to her, to laugh with her, and to grow old with her. I can’t wait to marry my best friend.
