We met when I just wanted a taco and a margarita... and only one restaurant nearby was well rated for gluten free/celiac friendly. Later on, I got a job there and we haven't been separated since.

We moved to Boone, NC together so I could finish my bachelor's degree. Trey became a goofy zipline tour guide.

He taught me important things like how to execute a proper hair flip. And that everything tastes better with butter.

He became my favorite wedding date.

And also my best friend.

A little black cat found us one day, and decided Trey was to be his best buddy. We named him Ouija.

He watched me graduate from App State with a degree in Psychology, after 5 medical withdrawals, several chronic illnesses, and countless struggles later. And no one was more gleeful than him.

He treated me to Italy for a couple weeks to celebrate my achievement. We fell so hard for Italy we haven't thought about much else but going back ever since.

Traveling with Trey has always had its bonus perk that he is constant entertainment.

We moved to Asheville together.

On December 25, 2019, Trey proposed. It was simple, in our home, and he said he "wins Christmas forever now."

Covid came and stayed, and a year after he proposed, we decided we couldn't wait any longer. On December 21, 2020, Trey and I were married in downtown Asheville, in masks, at the courthouse!

It was not what either of us thought our wedding day would look like, but it felt so right to make official something that already felt true: he is my person and I am his.

December 2022, in Puerto Vallarta, shortly before our 2 year anniversary, celebrating the marriage of a dear friend. I hope you feel the love here because we did.

And just like that, 2 years of marriage flew by. They have been magical. We can't wait to renew our vows with our parents!

Lake Como, Italy, 2019. I had caught a cold from our flight attendant in our Paris connection. I felt so bad here, but I was so happy. Trey took two boat rides to get me medicine that day.

Our maturity levels have probably plummeted in the years since this was taken.

"why's my cup so tiny?"

Trey farted as I took this picture.

Ouija atop his favorite perch.

Years later, still best buds.

We are beauty. We are grace.
