Our first date

Our first date was on Kenny's birthday. He had no plans, and ended up asking me a few days after we started texting if I wanted to go out to dinner with him. He comes and picks me up at 7:30 after work, and we go to my favorite restaurant, Gyro Wrap. We talked a lot, he pays for dinner, and we both knew we absolutely did not want the night to end. We go riding around in his car, still talking, learning all we can about each other. We decide to go to walmart after that, and end up spending over an hour just walking around in the store. He asked me what he could buy for me, and I tell him to get me some camera film after he made it clear he wouldn't take no for an answer. Then we sit in the parking lot and talk for hours. We share music, I sing for him, talk about our friends and interests and where we want our lives to go. After a couple hours of this, 1 am now, we decide we'd like a change of scenery. We go sit in the parking lot at the epps bridge shopping center, cuddle in the back seat and talk about very personal things that will never leave that back seat. I got teary eyed when the sun came up, and despite how dark it was, I think he did too. At 6:30, 11 hours after he picked me up, he dropped me off at home. I kept his jacket, and slept with it that day. It was a perfect date that we truly never wanted to end. We knew on that night that this was a connection that was special, one that has always existed and always will. Still to this day, it feels like I've always known him, while simultaneously feeling like hes brand new. It was a day I'll remember for eternity.

Our proposal

It was Christmas eve 2021, and we just found out Kenny's sister was sick and we most likely wouldn't be able to go and see his family on that day. At first we were bummed, until Kenny suggested taking a trip up to Helen. Helen was the place we had our first anniversary vacation, and a place we fell in love with. We drove up, at food at one of our favorite restaurants in the area, then went on a walk to a particularly beautiful part of town, lit up with lots of christmas lights. We went to a bridge with a small waterfall under it, Kenny took some pictures of me then suggested I set my phone up to get some poses of us that I could screenshot later for pictures. I set it up, he told me to look away, and when I turned around he was getting on one knee, and pulled the ring box out. I didn't even have time to look at it, right away I started crying and hugging him. When I finally did look at it I was in awe of how beautiful and perfect for me it was. In that moment, we were the only two people in the world.
