Our first date was at Buckley's Coffee Shop—a cozy little spot that would unknowingly set the stage for our love story. I got there first, and I scurried upstairs to check if he had arrived. Nope, no sign of him. As I made my way back down, I spotted him staring out the window, looking like a man on a mission. Feeling mischievous, I tiptoed up behind him and tapped his shoulder. "Are you looking for someone?" I teased. He spun around, eyes lighting up, and said with a grin, "Yes! And I think I just found her." From that moment on, the conversation flowed like we were old friends catching up. We shared stories of love and loss, and I how I'd lived in Merrimack for 21 years. We soon realized that our daughters had gone to school together and that I had unknowingly driven past his house probably a thousand times. When it was time to say goodbye, I walked away knowing I had met someone truly special. Meanwhile, he walked away thinking he had somehow messed it up. Spoiler alert: he hadn’t.
