Hannah and Miguel got engaged in the foothills overlooking Boise and the Treasure Valley. It was a complete surprise for Hannah; she was led to believe that Miguel was proposing sometime in August, and that he hadn't even gotten the ring yet. One evening while getting ready to go to church, Miguel received a phone call from a friend asking for "help" who had supposedly gotten stranded while hiking in the mountains, and his car would not start. No one else was able to rescue him, so with just barely enough time, Miguel and Hannah raced off to collect them. Once they finally reached the top of the mountain, Miguel told Hannah that they were not truly searching for their friend. He dropped to his knee and practically begged the love of his life to wed him. She of course agreed to this proposal in an intense state of shock.
