FAQs

Question

Where is the venue?

Answer

The ceremony & reception will be held at the Old Carter Barn located at 253 Shore Drive in Tunkhannock, Pa. We have included a separate tab for directions to the venue, however, if you have any questions, please contact the bride or groom!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal with a rustic summer twist. Think sundresses, jumpsuits, dress shirts and slacks. The ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting), so plan for gravel and uneven ground-- block heels, wedges, or flats are ideal. We do kindly ask no jeans, as this is a formal affair-- and NO WHITE! We appreciate you helping us keep the spotlight on the bride and the overall vibe festive and polished.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with our closest friends and family! Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those formally listed on your invitation. If a plus one is included, their name will be listed, however, if you have any questions, please ask the bride or groom. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We truly adore all your little ones! Most of you know the groom is a big kid, himself! However, again, due to venue restrictions, this will be an adults-only event, with the exception of immediate family children. We hope you can enjoy a night off to celebrate with us-- we thank you so much for understanding!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please refer to the "Travel" section of this website for any hotel recommendations. If you still have questions, please feel free to reach out to the bride or groom!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Dinner will be served buffet-style. However, if you have any dietary restrictions, or allergies, please make the bride or groom aware as soon as possible.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, parking is available on-site at the venue.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony is planned for outdoors, right next to a beautiful lake, weather permitting-- with the reception taking place in the barn. In case of rain, we do have an indoor backup plan!

Question

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

June in Pennsylvania can be warm but also breezy. Our ceremony will be outdoors on a lake, but our reception will take place inside a barn (with fans or A/C- whichever is needed). Please check the forecast and plan accordingly!

Question

What time will the ceremony start?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 3:30pm, with guests arriving as early as 3pm. Any late comers will be taken to the reception area, as not to interrupt the processional. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will have a selection of wine, beer and a few signature cocktails! Please drink responsibly and plan your transportation accordingly.

Question

Whats the plan for after the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a cocktail hour, with various appetizers served, from approximately 4pm to 5pm. After, guests will be directed to the barn to find their seats, before the couple makes their grand entrance as newlyweds! Dinner will be served at about 6pm.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony so our photographer and videographer can capture the moment without distractions-- and so you can be fully present with us! Don't worry-- there will be specific times announced when photos are welcome, including before we take our vows and after the ceremony. For the reception, guests are welcome to snap away! We thank you for respecting this request!

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Great question! We wanted to make this process as easy as possible for EVERYONE- whether your tech savvy or simply prefer pen & paper. You can RSVP right here on our website, by clicking the RSVP tab, or by scanning the QR code on your invitation. Other options include sending back your completed RSVP card, sent to you with your invitation, or simply by texting the bride: 570.606.5005! Please be sure to let us know whether you're coming or not, so as to have an accurate headcount for our vendors, as well as how many are coming (if a guest was included on your invitation). All RSVP's are needed NO LATER than Friday, May 1st! Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate any responses given after that date. We hope to see you at our big day!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

To make our registry as easy as possible, we are registered right here, on Zola! You can find our full registry-- including our honeymoon fund, by going to the "REGISTRY" tab, above.

Question

Can we send a gift without going through Zola?

Answer

Of course! Zola simply keeps everything organized for us, however, your welcome to choose something else, if you prefer! Our greatest gift is your presence, and we are grateful for whatever you choose!
