This is a gorgeous hike down to a beautiful valley with a black sand beach right out past Hawi if you are staying in the area! Be mindful it has a steep incline. At the very least you need to go see the lookout!

Pololū Valley

If you are looking for a resort feel without paying for the resort, head down to the beach at Mauna Kea beach! It is past Waikoloa on the way to Hawi and it is beautiful! Keep in mind there is limited parking!

Kaunaʻoa (Mauna Kea) Beach

If you’re driving between Waikoloa or Kona and Hawi, you HAVE to stop at this little burger joint! It looks unassuming, but don’t be fooled. Their burgers are to die for, they have the best fish tacos on the island, and they serve delicious malts, smoothies, and milkshakes.
