During our first day of Abnormal Psychology class, Valerie and another classmate were introducing themselves and sharing information about their high school and RCC programs. Nick overheard Valerie's introduction and joined the conversation. After briefly talking, we realized that we had been crossing paths since high school (2012). We discovered that we belonged to the same high school graduating class, took the same courses at County College of Morris, were enrolled in the same program at RCC, and even lived 15 minutes away from each other. Despite all this, we had never known of each other's existence until that day! Fast forward to July 13, 2019, Valerie's younger sister Teresa had some friends over. When they saw us, they asked why we weren't a couple. That night, Nick was persuaded by a few high schoolers into asking Valerie out, which he did... with Sweeney Todd killing the Italian barber in the background! She was crazy enough to say yes, and from there we have been together ever since! Over the years, we have become each other's adventure buddies and wilderness explorers! With Valerie's help, Nick was able to overcome his fear of flying, which has allowed us to explore various parts of the world including, Alaska, Seattle, Florida, Paris, London, New York City, and Maryland, just to name a few! While dating, we have faced some unique challenges, such as Valerie undergoing an unexpected surgery in a foreign country, recovering from injuries, and navigating through a global pandemic. Despite these difficulties, we have managed to come out even stronger and achieved incredible things, including graduating from college and passing our board exams (just to name a few). On November 30, 2023, Nick decided to make things official and went down on one knee under the pavilion at Gardner Field, where they used to have lunch together. However, he was very nervous and forgot to record the proposal, didn't give his speech, put the ring on the wrong hand, and although Valerie said yes, he decided to propose again. On December 23, 2023, the couple, along with Valerie's sister Jess and her girlfriend Alex, went to Morristown for a few drinks. After the bar, they took a walk through "The Morristown Green", where Nick and Valerie had their first date. There, Nick re-proposed in front of the Christmas tree, and Jess and Alex helped capture the moment for them to cherish forever! We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and can't wait for you to be a part of it! Always remember, ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!
