Sara and Stephanie first met working at Pier 1 Imports in college. They quickly figured out they shared the same sense of humor, which mostly consisted of finding a joke from The Office for every situation. Through countless memories, laughs, tears, and The Office rewatches, their friendship grew into something that more resembles sisterhood. Sara and Stephanie now live a state away, but their friendship stays strong with frequent texts, FaceTimes, and in person visits a couple times a year. Sara is so grateful to have Stephanie stand by her side on her wedding day.
Ashley Vandersteen

Ashley is Sara’s older sister by five years. Their relationship grew when Sara moved away to college and Ashley realized she actually couldn’t live without her and would constantly ask her when she was coming home next. Now, their relationship is the strongest it’s ever been and they frequently lean on each other through life’s up’s and down’s. Their current obsession is playing Ticket to Ride together at night from the comfort of their separate houses via facetime.

Sara and Ashley first met at an airport flying to New Orleans for Stephanie’s bachelorette party in 2018. Ashley did not get to meet the best version of Sara that day.. she met Hangry Sara. Luckily the weekend was extremely fun filled and Ashley still wanted to be Sara’s friend. Because they were both standing up in Stephanie’s wedding, they continued to cross paths. Those paths never uncrossed and Sara is very thankful to have Ashley in her life. They both share a love for thrifting, rockhounding, and animals. Their favorite long-distance activity to do together is chasing the northern lights from a whole state away.
Casandra (Sandy) Somes

Sara and Cas met at Senior Bar Crawl for their college and their paths continued to cross because Cas was also in Stephanie’s wedding. Unfortunately for Sara, their paths never uncrossed. This created a very strange four way friendship between Sara, Stephanie, Ashley, and Sandy. Sandy claims the friendship has “blossomed out of the kindness of my heart to not deck you”. No one tell Sandy this, but Sara couldn’t imagine her life without her. Cas and Sara both also enjoy thrifting, rockhounding, and the U.P.
Taylor Marohl

Sara and Taylor met in 6th grade when they were paired up for a class project about Easter Island. They quickly discovered they both had similar interests: Nancy Drew computer games and Webkinz. This created a friendship that has lasted two decades. Although life looks different now for Taylor and Sara, their friendship will forever remain the same.
Kylie Starry

Sara and Kylie first met while Kylie was in her pharmacy school internship at the same Walgreens where Sara worked. Kylie helped Sara get her current job, and now they work together full-time. Kylie and Sara share a love of cats, videogames, reading, and Taylor Swift.
Jake Nonnweiler
Best Man
Jake is the Best Man because his fish is the biggest. Also because Jake and Jake have been best friends since birth, because their parents were also best friends. They spent many years going on family vacations to Dead Lake, hunting and fishing, and playing on the same football team in high school. Jake is really excited to be Best Man because he loves public speaking.
Kyle Peterson

Jake met Kyle in middle school and they’ve been friends ever since. They played football and shot trap together in school. They also liked to hunt and fish together practically every weekend, and even though they live miles away, they still try to get together at least once a year to duck hunt like the good-old-days.
Tyler Strait
Groomsman
Tyler is Jake’s older brother and middle child of the three boys. Jake and Tyler both love to hunt and fish, sometimes together. Once a year they try to get together for one good Missisippi River duck hunting trip, and one or two big game hunts out west.
John Strait
Groomsman
John is Jake’s older brother and the oldest sibling of the three boys. John and Jake both enjoy hunting, fishing, and the Green Bay Packers. John likes to come up a couple times a year to either fish for Walleyes on the bay, or to attend as many Packer games as he can. Sara and Jake have been able to attend a few of the same games as John, their favorite being last year’s Thanksgiving game.
Nick Vandersteen

Nick is Sara’s brother-in-law. Jake and Nick have known each other for the duration of his relationship with Sara. They have bonded over their love for videogames, hunting, and bad jokes.
Sydney + Brea

Sydney is Sara’s niece and Brea is Jake’s niece. We are so excited to be able to include them in our special day!
