Sara and Jake are getting married because a man from Iowa decided to buy a cabin on the Bay of Green Bay fourteen years ago. Sara’s parents moved from Green Bay to Little Suamico eleven years ago when Sara moved away to college. Sara’s dad, Chris, befriended Randy, the cabin owner, and would frequently fish with him in his boat. Jake started going to the cabin when he was sixteen years old and would sometimes be at the cabin during these fishing weekends and got to spend a lot of time getting to know Sara’s dad. Jake was awestruck at the quality of fishing on the bay and decided to make it his life’s mission to move there someday permanently. Jake frequently joked that in order to do this, he should just marry one of Chris’ daughters! Ashley was already married, so that left Sara who was living in her college town of Marquette, Michigan. It became a bit that Sara’s parents did every time she was home visiting for a weekend: “You should really go down and meet Jake, he’s very nice!” “Jake is here this weekend, you should go say ‘hi’!” Sara rolled her eyes and went back north until Wisconsin’s opening deer season of 2018 when she woke up from a nap to her dad telling her that Jake is going to come pick her up and take her back to the hunting shack to join the others in chatting and drinking after a successful (or unsuccessful) day. The next morning Jake was duck hunting at the cabin and Sara was trying to sleep in unsuccessfully due to the gun shots. She jokingly messaged Jake asking him to keep it down and the rest is history. The remaining years consisted of Jake driving 9 hours to visit Sara in Michigan until she moved in with her parents, and then an apartment in Green Bay. Their relationship was long distance for the first three years until Jake was able to get a lineman job in Oconto Falls fulfilling his dream of moving to Wisconsin..for the fishing of course. Sara and Jake have now lived in their Gillett home for three years and have one dog and two cats. Now they both go to the cabin to fish with Randy in his boat. The End.
