“A best friend is one of the most precious gifts from God.” Throughout many years of friendship, Stacie has shown Meghan how true that really is. There aren’t enough words to describe how much Stacie and Meghan have been through together and the memories they have. But here’s a few, basketball rivals turned teammates, tequila, scary movies, chocolate peppermint schnapps shakes, ATV crashes, lawn gnomes, tattoos, piercings, and so much more. Some of Meghan’s favorite memories are with Stacie. They’ve known each other since before middle school which has allowed them to walk through all stages of life together. Meghan couldn’t be more thankful to have a best friend like her. Not only is Stacie her best friend, but she will always be her partner in crime!
Brent Swanberg
Best Man
Brent is Joel's big brother & the "Best Man" in the wedding. Don't let the title fool you, he's really just a normal man. As a wannabe comedian, Brent is known for repeating a handful of go-to "bits" to unsuspecting victims whenever in a party or bar setting. Nonetheless, Joel will admit that Brent is hysterical & never fails to make him laugh. Brent is more than just a brother to Joel, he's one of his best friends & role models. They've been training partners all throughout high school track, college track, & even now as washed up adults they continue to push each other in the gym every week. Although Brent may bench more weight, ask him about their Javelin PRs.
Christy Swanberg
Bridesmaid
Christy is Joel’s sister. Meghan can remember the day she met her like it was yesterday. She was in town from Illinois so they decided to all get dinner together. The car ride to the restaurant was probably the quietest car ride Joel and Meghan had ever had. She was so nervous she thought she was going to throw up. As a sister to three boys, she knew how important it was to get her approval. Walking up to the restaurant Meghan was shaking, but Christy greeted her with a big hug and all of Meghan’s nerves went away. It didn't take Meghan long at all to realize just how much they had in common. Meghan finally found another queso lover, but it was more than that. Christy is the most kind and down to earth person Meghan has ever met. She is so thankful that Christy is in her life!
Tyler Matulis
Groomsman
Growing up, Tyler & Joel did everything together, & Tyler's been Joel's best friend since before he can remember. Tyler was homeschooled, so Joel was his only friend. After school, & after Tyler finished grading his own tests, they would set things on fire, hit siblings with toy light sabers, feed insects to fire ants, break into gyms to play basketball, & trespass on federal property to get closer to bison (a good story for another time). Nowadays, Tyler is what Joel refers to as a "beer snob". You can usually find him looking down his nose at you while drinking a Belgian or IPA. Sorry Tyler, no craft beer at this wedding. Jokes aside, Joel will attest that Tyler drives him to be a better man in many aspects of his life.
Katie Barber
Bridesmaid
Katie is one of Meghan’s aunts. Growing up, some of Meghan’s fondest memories were with Katie. When Meghan was young, one of her favorite things to do was have sleep overs at uncle Eric’s and auntie Katie’s house. Probably because Meghan got to eat candy, popcorn, and drink pop while there! But she can also remember watching movies and doing puzzles while there too. Often times during the summer, Meghan would spend time hiking in Boulder with Katie at Chautauqua Park. To this day the Royal Arch Trail is still one of Meghan’s favorite trails. Though Meghan has many fun memories with Katie, Katie has also been there for some tough times for Meghan. More times than not Katie is one of the first people Meghan calls when in need of help or advice, and Katie is always willing to be there!
Will Ford
Groomsman
Will was one of Joel's best friends in college, & still is today. They were roommates for 2 years at Marquette, then moved to Colorado together where they were roommates for 2 more years. In College, Will had a reputation for drinking a few too many beers. He's since given up his partying ways & taken up the green lifestyle Colorado has to offer - nature that is. But when he's not hiking, camping or fishing, don't even think about making plans with this guy, his calendar is booked with dog park dates with his Husky, Vhaego. Will is a great man & means more to Joel than he knows. He has a level of politeness, chivalry & respect for others that Joel strives to live up to. Both captains on the track team, Will pushed Joel in every workout. He had the pole vault record before Joel after all...
Heather O'Hayre Bringle
Bridesmaid
Heather is also Meghan’s aunt. She went to school in NYC and decided to stay there for several years while Meghan was younger, but that didn’t stop Meghan from wanting to be just like her. Meghan was always taking note of any new fashion or makeup trend Heather wore while visiting home, and sometimes she’d even try to replicate them. Meghan and Heather wrote many letters to one another all through out those years. To this day, Meghan still has all of them. She always looked forward to a new letter from Heather. Along with the letters, Heather would sometimes send Meghan purses. Meghan thinks this is partially why her and Heather now share the same shoe and purse obsession. Since Heather has been back in Colorado, none of this has changed, Heather will always be someone Meghan looks up to.
Kyle Stai
Groomsman
Kyle & Joel first met at a church camping event when they were just wee lads. They've been friends ever since. The OG squad of Kyle, Joel, Brent, Tyler & our friend Wagner were a force to be reckoned with growing up. Kyle moved out to Colorado with his wife, Julie, shortly after Brent & Joel. Last year while skiing, Kyle earned the Biggest Jerry Award when he dislocated his arm on the very first run of the season. Fun fact about Kyle: For about a decade of his life, he worked at Sherwin Williams - the paint supply store. He loves paint so much that it made an appearance at his own wedding in a special way. Ask Kyle for more details on that. Kyle is one of the few friends Joel has that goes WAY back, & Joel is honored to have him stand in his wedding.
Addison and Ella Barber
Flower Girl
Addi and Ella are two of Meghan’s cousins. Meghan can remember going to family functions and spending almost the whole time playing with them. They’d often play dolls or make-believe kitchen together. On top of that, Meghan went on a lot of hikes, walks, park, and swim dates with them. Even though Meghan ended up getting sick, one of her favorite memories with them was staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. Meghan remembers swimming around the lazy river, playing in the arcade, and sitting with them during story time. They live in Minnesota now, but Meghan still tries to be a part of their life. Weather that’s visiting them as often as she can, watching their sports online, snap chatting with them or playing games with them over Messenger Kids (Meghan almost always loses).
Daniel Sweeney
Groomsman
"Sweeney", or "Sween-Bean", ran the 110m hurdles at Marquette with Joel for 1 year before transferring. Over that 1 year period, they became very close friends & did all sorts of shenanigans together. It wasn't until after Joel decided to move to Colorado that he found out Sweeney moved there too! Thus, the shenanigans resumed. Sweeney is a great guy all around. He is the life of the party & never fails to get everyone a little drunky. His go-to drink is mixing tequila in beer (not entirely true). Although Joel & Sweeney spent many late nights playing pool & darts, Sweeney has yet to beat Joel in either (could be a lie). What IS true is he can catch anything one handed, but be sure to fact check that by tossing things his way throughout the wedding night. And yes, that is mustard...
Hadleigh Bringle
Flower Girl
Hadleigh is quite the character with an insane amount of personality. She is one of Meghan’s many cousins. Meghan loves bonding with her over her love for sports. Often times when Meghan babysits her, they end up in the backyard playing any and every sport. Last time, Meghan was able to help her learn how to swing a bat. She has since hit a girl in the face while trying to go after a pinata, and unfortunately it was the birthday girl... but hey, you can’t teach aggression. Meghan wishes she had that aggression when she played sports! On top of her love of sports, Hadleigh is a dare devil and loves a sense of adventure. Last summer Meghan and Joel went tubbing with her on the Arkansas River. No one was surprised when Meghan ended up being more afraid of the rapids than Hadleigh!
Aidan Stovall
Ring Bearer
Aidan is Meghan’s nephew and a very import person in her life. For the first year of his life Meghan got to live with him. Many of those months his crib stayed in her room. She still remembers waking up to him whispering “Auntie wake up!”. He often did this because he knew she would get him from his crib to cuddle in bed. This allowed the two to form a special bond. Aidan doesn’t only have a special bond with Meghan, but also with Joel. The first time Joel and Aidan spent a significant amount of time together was when Meghan and Joel took him to the zoo. Even though Aidan didn’t know Joel very well, he insisted on having Joel carry him everywhere. To this day, if Joel is around, all Aidan wants to do is play with him. Needless to say, Aidan has become very import to both Meghan and Joel.
Shauna Stovall
Mother of the Bride
Shauna is Meghan's Mom and best friend. Meghan loves hanging out with Shauna! They often go to country concerts together. They’ve traveled to North Carolina, Michigan, South Dakota, and Wisconsin for country concerts. They’ve also traveled out of the country together. They’ve been to the Bahamas, Japan, Mexico, and more. Meghan’s favorite though was when Shauna took her to Palau for her college graduation gift! Shauna is the toughest women Meghan knows. She has completely redone her house on her own. Electrical, floors, cabinets, doors, deck, you name it, she’s done it. Shauna is also the definition of ‘Mama bear’, she cares for her family like no one before. Don’t do anything to hurt her family because you’ll be in the doghouse, and that’s NOT somewhere you want to be with her!
Kent Stovall
Father of the Bride
This is Meghan’s Dad. He was Meghan’s first basketball coach and continued coaching her for years. He spent countless nights in the gym helping her pursue her dream of becoming a college athlete. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have made that dream come true. He also taught her mental toughness, work ethic, and how to be a leader. Kent also had a huge impact on many of his players. He helped a lot of players improve their skills on and off the court, and make their dreams come true. Meghan hopes she can be as good of a coach as he was someday. Kent isn’t just a sports phein though, he has great dad jokes (according to him..) and has an interesting theory about aliens, you should ask him. Not only will Kent forever be Meghan’s basketball coach, but she will forever be his Princess!
Cindy Swanberg
Mother of the Groom
Joel couldn't have asked for a better mom. Cindy is a loving, kind-hearted, selfless woman of God. She inspires Joel to be a better man every day. She's so supportive and was one of Joel's biggest fans when he ran track. Cindy was a stay-at-home mother of 3, and is now pursuing her dream as an elementary school teacher. However, for a teacher, she sure does mispronounce a lot of words. Come prepared to the wedding with flowers and a hug for this amazing lady!
Darrell Swanberg
Father of the Groom
Darrell exemplifies what it means to be an amazing father and husband. Joel's dad is the wisest and most hard working man Joel knows, although, you don't have to tell him that because he already knows it. Known for his narcissistic jokes, Darrell is also one of the funniest guys Joel knows. Joel's dad taught Joel everything he knows about being handy. You can usually find him in the garage building a taser, an obnoxious train horn, or a giant magnifying glass to burn things with. Sean Stovall

Sean is Meghan's oldest brother and even though they’re far apart in age, they’ve always been close. At their grandmother's house, Meghan loved to play dress up, but she loved it even more when Sean would dress up with her. Not only would he participate, but he’d wear the dress and crown that Meghan picked out for him. Sean was often there for Meghan in college too. Whenever Meghan got overwhelmed with her classes and grades, he was the first one she’d call. He spent many hours on the phone with her while she was upset. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have the career she has today. Since college, Meghan has spent a lot of time visiting him in California, and is always looking forward to her next trip out there. Meghan couldn’t ask for a better person to marry her and Joel.
Patrick Stovall
Usher
Patrick, or Patty as Meghan calls him, is another one of Meghan’s brothers. Meghan has always been close with Patrick. She can remember annoying him while his friends were playing poker because she always wanted to be around him. She also remembers Patrick taking her to see several plays at his high school with him and his friends. Patrick is definitely the artistic one in their family. He can do it all, from photography, drawing, painting, and is even a fantastic writer. For one of Meghan’s birthdays he drew her a replica of a picture she has with Aidan, and they’re identical! From blaring music during drives, talking in accents to one another, and picking on each other as much as possible, Meghan loves spending time with Patrick. There is never a dull moment.
Tye Stovall
Usher
Tye is the youngest brother in Meghan’s family, though still older than her. Growing up Meghan wanted to do everything he was doing and be everywhere he was. When they were little, Meghan would even sleep on the floor of his room and make him read stories to her. Tye started playing football and wrestling when he was around six. Meghan loved going to all his games and matches. She looked up to him so much that she even convinced her parents to let her play football! She tried with wrestling too, but they weren’t going to let that happen. To this day Meghan still looks up to him. She looks up to him for all the perseverance, strength, determination, and hard work that he shows on a day-to-day basis. Tye is also a wonderful Dad to Aidan and has taught Meghan a lot about being a parent.
