We met in 2011 at Penn State Behrend. We were in the same group of friends, so we'd run into each other fairly regularly. Nate claims I wasn’t nice to him; although, I remember driving him off campus to get groceries or fast food a few times. We weren’t close friends, by any means, and dating definitely didn't cross either of our minds. The last we saw of each other was in 2013 when we had statistics class together. Nate left school after the semester of statistics and we didn't keep in touch after that; though, we were still friends on social media. In summer of 2017, I was finishing up graduate school in Arkansas when Nathan posted a picture of Bruce on snapchat. I commented on the Snapchat saying "I don't like Beagles, but that's the cutest Beagle I've ever seen." I never expected Nate to reply and really didn’t intend to spark conversation. Conversation about Nate’s dogs ensued and Nate offered to show me how the dogs run rabbits. After a few trips to visit Nate in Johnsonburg, I fell in love with Elk County and the dogs. By September I had relocated to St. Marys for a job (I swear I wasn't stalking him. It's just funny how things work out). After traveling between St. Marys and Johnsonburg for 2 years to see Nate and the dogs, Nate talked me into buying a house in Highland so we could all live together. On June 4, 2021, we took the dogs out to run a hare. As the dogs ran, Nate popped the question. It was the perfect proposal in the middle of the woods doing the thing that initially brought us together: running dogs.
