How We Met

03/18/2022

We met through a mutual contact that Conner knew from high school and Jenna met in college. We had our first date in February of 2022, and Jenna knew almost immediately that there was something different about Conner. We had dinner and drove around talking for hours. After that date, it only took about a month before we officially called this thing a relationship, and Jenna already knew he was the one for her. It took Conner a little bit longer to admit that, but only by a few weeks! He was the first to say "I love you", and the rest, as they say, is history!

The Engagement

10/3/2024

We had just arrived back from wandering about the town on an average Thursday evening, and while standing in the driveway, Jenna mentioned how beautiful the stars were that night, so shiny and sparkly, and almost seemed to be bright enough to add light to a moonless night. Conner was headed out to do livestock chores, and she asked if we could go up to the top of the driveway and sit on the tiny hay bale to look at the stars for a while. He agreed and told her to head up there and enjoy them, he’d be right behind. She offered to help him with chores first, but he said 'no- it’s only one bucket, I'll feed quick and meet you up there'. For some reason she didn’t argue to help him like she normally would have, and she also didn't pick up that he was obnoxiously nervous because he has more livestock to feed than "just one bucket" so unclear why she did not pick up that something was off! We were sitting on the hay bales star gazing, talking about life and the stars and God’s natural wonders, and while she was distracted, looking off to the other side, Conner got down on one knee onto the half sized hay bale we were using at a foot rest, and asked Jenna to marry him. She said yes, of course! They both were only slightly paranoid about dropping the ring into the hay bales in the dark! He pulled off a complete surprise proposal, she did not see it coming at all!
