The church where we will hold our wedding ceremony. It is a 20-minute walk to the reception venue through a beautiful neighborhood, if you're feeling up to a stroll.
This is our reception venue. The clubhouse of a storied society for artists and intellectuals, it's a grand Victorian manor with plenty of alcoves to explore.
The St. Charles streetcar line runs directly in front of our reception venue. We recommend downloading the app, Le Pass, and exploring different spots along the line.
Next to our reception venue. Perfect place for a walk!
Get drinks early in the night next to Audubon Park.
Magazine Street is a miles-long, strollable shopping district that runs parallel to St. Charles Ave. and the St. Charles streetcar line. It's the perfect place to buy souvenirs, thrift, or eat lunch.
If you're excited to venture into the French Quarter, stop at our favorite places. The following spots in this list are our top places for date nights and forays with out of towners. (Note: while you can take the streetcar all the way to the end of the line and end up on the edge of the Quarter, it will take you an hour. Uber may be your best bet). The courtyard at Peychaud's is a magical place to have a cocktail during the day and pause for a quiet moment in the boisterous Quarter.
This free museum in the French Quarter offers some of the most comprehensive exhibits on Louisiana history, all in air-conditioned, historic buildings.
A quaint and magical book shop in the center of the Quarter.
The afore-mentioned subtropical climate of New Orleans can make you crazy, but a trip to Latitude 29 will cool you down and trick you into thinking you're on an island far, far away (instead of a swamp).
A tourist trap worth falling for. Try to swing by on a night when the dueling pianos are playing. And if they're not, sit in the courtyard and ponder why on earth they put the women's bathrooms at the top of a spiral staircase at a bar (Hint: it's a test of endurance).
Picture this: It's after midnight, you're three Pat O hurricanes deep, and you want nothing more in the world than a roast beef poboy. Verti Marte will take care of you. Just trust us.
The less touristy cousin to Bourbon (for now). You can hear live music on Frenchmen any day of the week, any time of day. Bring cash (or your Venmo) to tip the bands. No penalties for bad dancing, but an effort IS required.
