Maid of Honor
Besides being one of my big sisters, Amelia has always been my best friend. We communicate almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day with the crazy year we’ve had in 2020. From the day I was born, Amelia thought we’d be inseparable and she was right! She’s my meep and I couldn’t imagine this day without her right by my side!
Best Man
My dad has been the sole reason I am who I am today. His boisterous personality is only overshadowed by his compassion. He showed me that it takes hard work, listening, and compromise to make a relationship flourish.
Father of the Bride
Kanue has been one of my best friends since 2009. We met in high school and soon became inseparable. We decided to venture out into the world away from Prescott together and began our lives in Flagstaff in 2015. Kanue is like a big brother to me and has always been there as a shoulder to lean on, a partner in crime, and a protector of my heart. When Doug came along, Kanue realized he was the real deal and after a year of all three living together & he passed the torch onto Doug to be my protector and provider and moved to San Francisco. I couldn’t imagine a better person to walk me down the aisle. You will forever be my noodle, I love you so much.
Mother of the Groom
Growing up I have always been very close to my mom. We had a very open and honest dialogue on our long rides to school together throughout middle and high school. Even while I was away in the military, I looked to her for guidance and we’ve maintained that communication ever since. When I found out Kati’s birthday was the same day as hers, I knew I’d never be able to forget it. My mom has always been my biggest fan.
Mother of the Bride
I am of the youngest of Mom’s daughters and will always be her baby! I’m thankful to have her by my side on such an important day. She has taught me to listen before responding from emotions, to approach situations with compassion, and to never stop fighting for my dreams or beliefs. All of these lessons will benefit our marriage moving forward and I couldn’t be more grateful to have her as my mom.
Flower Child
Aviva & Violet are the first daughters of my sisters Rachael and Amelia, respectively. They are about 3 months apart and are each so unique, smart, and beautiful. As I am the youngest, I can’t remember Amelia and Rach being this little, but their daughters are spitting images of them. I’m thrilled that I get to be an aunt to so many amazing kids in our family.
Ring Bearer
Jayden is the eldest son of Amelia and Neil. Jayden is one of the most compassionate and reflective people we’ve ever met. When Doug met Jayden, he gave him a third degree level of questioning to make sure he was the right fit for Kati and concluded he could stick around.
Officiant
We wanted an officiant who had played an pivotal role in both of our lives and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect person. Kati refers to Ellen lovingly as her step-half mom. As the mother of Amelia and Rachael, Kati spent lots of time at her house playing with her sisters, doing arts and crafts, and going on hikes with Ellen. They have kept a strong bond over the years and Ellen has always treated Kati as her own. The first time Doug met Ellen, we realized that she had been a college advisor for his dad, Dan, when he went back to get his teaching degree. They had worked closely throughout his education and subsequently she altered the direction of Doug’s life. We are lucky to have Ellen in our lives and so thankful she’s officiating our special day.
