Charis and Jonathan met in a Spanish 4 class the summer before Charis' junior and Jonathan's senior year of high school. For weeks, Jonathan was oblivious to Charis' feelings towards him. Once he caught on, he began his courtship at the most romantic place he could- The Habit Burger Grill at the La Canada Town Center. Their first official first date took place right before the school year started where they went mini-golfing together. The date was tee-riffic and the rest is history.

After months of planting seeds in Charis' mind that he would not propose until early 2022, Jonathan put a plan in place to propose earlier than expected. He had a group of her friends convince her that they were all going out for a fun girls photoshoot together in Palos Verdes. When she arrived, she was shocked to see Jonathan there waiting. So surprised, in fact, that the first words out of her mouth were, "nooo..." After forgetting most of the speech that he had prepared, Jonathan got down on one knee and proposed. Charis was elated and immediately said, YES!
