July 2014 Crystal was living in downtown Cleveland taking prerequisites for nursing school at Cleveland State. Michael was back in Strongsville for Summer Break from Ohio University. Both were swiping left and right on the same dating app. *It’s a match!* Their first conversation was about Crystal’s hometown of Kingsville and the one traffic light in the center of town. Casual messages were sent back and forth knowing that the end of August would take Michael back to Athens and Crystal would be knee deep in nursing classes. After a few months, Crystal knew this was something special. Come December, Michael was home again for winter break and the two finally met in person. (Although nobody knew but Crystal’s roommate Lauren. Sorry, mom!) A couple weeks later Michael was back in Athens, still single. But at some point, Crystal must have made an impression because Michael asked her to be his girlfriend on January 30, 2015. Many trips to Athens later, 2 graduations, a house, a dog, and many memories in between; here we are.
