Travel Note
We’ve reserved a hotel block at The Alexandrian in Old Town Alexandria to make traveling to the wedding as easy as possible, but we also encourage guests to explore other options! If you’d like to experience more of DC, consider staying in the city or checking out nearby Airbnbs. Our favorite neighborhoods are Georgetown and Dupont Circle, but places closer The National Mall are convenient and budget-friendly options! Alexandria and DC are well-connected by Metro, so you’ll have plenty of great options while still being close to the celebration!

Train
Jessica & Eli's favorite way of getting from New York to DC: Amtrak. If you book early enough, tickets are incredibly cheap (~$35), but closer to the date (basically after August 2025), tickets get much more expensive. You can take Amtrak to Union Station (Washington, DC) or directly to Alexandria’s King Street Station, depending on your route. Option 1: Amtrak to Union Station (Washington, DC) Union Station is a major Amtrak hub with trains arriving from all over the country. If your route doesn’t stop in Alexandria, you can easily get there from Union Station: - Rideshare/Taxi: A 20-30 minute Uber/Lyft ride (~$25-$40 depending on traffic) - Metro: Take the Red Line to Gallery Place, transfer to the Yellow Line toward Huntington, and get off at King Street-Old Town Station (~30 min). - Amtrak/VRE: Some Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) trains continue to Alexandria (~20 min). Option 2: Amtrak to Alexandria’s King Street Station If your Amtrak route includes a stop at King Street Station, this is the easiest way to get to Old Town Alexandria! From the station, The Alexandrian Hotel is just a: - 5-minute Uber/Lyft ride - 15-minute scenic walk straight down King Street - Free ride on the King Street Trolley, which runs every 15 minutes and stops near the hotel
