A few weeks into their freshman year, Steven and Nicole met during a learn-to-belay class at the climbing wall at Johns Hopkins University. As the fall semester went on, and friend groups coalesced, they found themselves seeing each other more and more at hangouts and meals in the dining hall. One night, Nicole declared "I want to go find a rabbit", and Steven said "OK!" and they walked off together. This started a string of nearly nightly "bunny hunts" on which Steven and Nicole talked, explored campus for hours, and successfully found and named dozens of lagomorphs. On one of these walks, early in the morning of February 11th, 2017, they confessed that they had become more than friends, and planned a date to the aquarium. Fast forward a couple of years, through semesters of college, summers apart and summers abroad, through a pandemic, apartments in Maryland and Texas, new jobs and and a PhD program, frogs, fish, a hamster, three guinea pigs, countless adventures and new experiences, and you'll find that Steven and Nicole share a bond strengthened by their love of nature, always learning, and of each other.
