South Bend, Indiana is located approximately 90 miles east of Chicago and about 150 miles north of Indianapolis. Both larger cities have major airports. The local airport is South Bend International Airport.

If you are flying, we recommend flying into South Bend International Airport (SBN) or one of the Chicago airports - Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) or Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW). SBN: 15 minute drive from the University of Notre Dame. ORD /MDW: Roughly 1.5 hour drive from the University of Notre Dame. There is also a South Shore rail line or Amtrak that takes you from Chicago to South Bend.
