Travel Note
As of 2025, visitors to the UK are required to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA) to enter the country. The application is online (see link), simple to complete, and quick to process. It costs £16 to apply. Please fill out the application well in advance of your planned travel date.
Travel Note
St Andrews shuttle provides private and semi-private transportation from both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports/major train stations. This is a great option for convenient, door-to-door travel and one-way trips are often very affordable (less than £20).
Train
We recommend taking the tram from Edinburgh airport into the city center/main train stations (Waverley, Haymarket, Gateway). The most direct route is often via Gateway, but fewer trains run through there.
Train
For travel to and from Edinburgh, we recommend booking a train (from Haymarket, Waverley, or Edinburgh Gateway) to Leuchars (loo-kars) station. From there, it is a short taxi or bus ride into St Andrews.
Hotel
This luxury hotel sits right on the edge of the famous Old Course. It is situated right in the town, a short walk from all the major points of interest for the weekend.
Hotel
The Old Course Hotel is a beautiful spa and resort on the outskirts of town, overlooking the historic old course. This is an absolute must for golf lovers (the tea room is a challenging obstacle on the 17th "road hole"!)
Hotel
St Andrews has a ton of charming, local B&B's. We highly recommend checking these out. Many are located along Murray Park/Murray Place, right in the center of town.
Hotel
This is a budget-friendly option, still within walking distance to the center of town. Plus, it's just down the road from Jack's old flat!
