We met through online dating in 2018 but our love story started 2 years before. Bryan messaged Lauren on a dating app but she didn't respond. But when Bryan saw Lauren's profile pop up again about 2 years later, he gave it another shot. After a few messages, they decided to meet up for some coffee and tea. Then we didn't talk for about 5 days because Lauren went to Oregon for her cousin's wedding. That was the last time they went so long without talking.
Before a dinner with Lauren's family, Bryan came before Lauren got home and talked to Lauren's parents about getting married. They were excited and gave their blessing. When Lauren came home, her nephew, Arden told her that Bryan was talking to grandpa so she was not to go inside. That night, Lauren stayed over Bryan's and they made plans to go see the sunrise. Something they do regularly. When the alarms went off at 5am, Bryan was already awake and was very adamant that Lauren needed to get up. Lauren was skeptical. The weather wasn't looking the greatest and sleep is a wonderful thing. Bryan dragged a very reluctant Lauren out of bed then he told her that she couldn't wear her hoodie despite the chill on this grey morning. They arrived to the beach only to realize they forgot their blanket and their usual spot was being taken over by a ride on sand sweeper. So they moved over a little bit and plopped on the damp sand. To say the sunrise was a bit late was an understatement. It was cold, windy and a very cloudy sunrise. Lauren was grumpy to say the least. She started complaining how this sunrise was a dud but at least she had gathered a nice little rock collection. Bryan seeing an opening starting talking about how even though this sunrise was not what we expected that it is ok because he wants to see every sunrise for the rest of his days with Lauren. These are the last words Lauren remembers before seeing Bryan attempt to get on one kneel but promptly fell in the sand. Lauren then came back to consciousness somewhere around “Will you marry me?”. She blurted out “Absou-fucking-lutely.”
