What do I wear?

Answer

Dress code is cocktail attire. In respect to Chinese and Indian Culture, please REFRAIN from wearing red and gold. Red and gold are reserved for the bride and groom ONLY. White is for the bride ONLY. Please also refrain from wearing anything neon, flashy, or that has sequins. Purple and grey are reserved for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. You may wear Indian and Chinese attire with the exception of the following colors: red, gold, white, and purple as previously mentioned.

Can I bring my children?

Answer

As mentioned previously and while the couple adores and loves children, they have decided to make this an adults-only event. If you cannot attend, please let Karishma and Steven know. The couple will understand.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If you have received an invite, congrats! Steven and Karishma want you to be a part of their event. This is a very intimate and special moment for them; therefore, guests are strictly by INVITE ONLY. If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, they would prefer if it was just you. Please RSVP by July 1st, 2022 for reception seating arrangements. If RSVPS are not recieved, Steven and Karishma will assume you are not attending.

Can I attend the ceremony?

Answer

YES! Ofcourse you can attend. Steven and Karishma would love your presence! Please arrive EARLY. The mass promptly begins at 3:00. Professional photography and videography will be in process; therefore, it is imperative that you do not arrive more than 30 minutes before the mass. Please indicate if you are attending their ceremony on your RSVP card, simply write it via a checkmark or email Karishma immediately. They humbly ask that you DO NOT record or be on the phone during the mass in respect for their day and the Church. They welcome all photography and video during their reception and AFTER the mass. This is an UNPLUGGED ceremony!

I have captured many special moments, can I share them via social media?

Answer

YES! Take all the photos and videos you'd like AFTER the mass and TAG them :) ! Share with them all your photography and video of the reception via the hashtag: #HappilyEverChen22 *If you are not on social media but would like to share your photos and videos with the couple, please email all media to Karishma via her email: karishmamendes@gmail.com, the couple would like to cherish their memories with one another and you!

What happens at an Asian wedding?

Answer

As with Western weddings, Asian Weddings are lively and full of celebration. There will be speeches and grand entrances, plenty of food and drink, and you might see some regional food options. Quite often, you’d expect to see lots of theatrical style dancing, with guests almost serenading the bride and groom with Bollywood style dancing. Dance away! Remember, it's a day in which families and the couple join together as one. Get ready to celebrate with Steven and Karishma and most importantly, have fun! Please ensure that you receive adequate rest and energy the night before because you will need it! ;)
