We’re getting married!

Hi, meet the Texas Chindian couple. Steven and Karishma initially met online on Match.com. You can say it's a match made in heaven, lol ;) ! During the fall of 2018, Steven settled in Houston for a new career in chemical engineering. During this time, Karishma was pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is currently a licensed mental health counselor in Texas. As practicing Catholics, both had prayed about the vocation of marriage throughout their lives and their relationship. Surprisingly and prior to meeting Karishma, Steven had an interest in Indian food and would watch Indian street food videos on YouTube. Prior to meeting Steven, Karishma had an interest in Chinese TV dramas and culture. East Asia meets South Asia! Get ready to party! Both were drawn to each other's personality and scheduled to meet in person for a dinner date at P.F Chang's. Steven admired Karishma's confidence and Karishma appreciated Steven's humility and chivalry. Both individuals laid out expectations to each other before dating. Their relationship ensures that God is the center of it all. In fact, the first time they attended church together, the message was on the vocation of marriage! Woah! Karishma's parents prayed for her future marriage before she met Steven. One day, her father closed his eyes and said, "Baby girl, I have a feeling in my spirit that your man is coming all the way from China, don't you worry!" Karishma laughed it off; however, as a teenager, she prayed Corinthians 13:4-13 for her future husband and marriage. Steven also prayed for his future wife and marriage as well. There is power in prayer! The Chen and Mendes Families invite you to celebrate the union of these two unique individuals. Their love runs deep. Steven and Karishma wish to share their journey with you, as their relationship is full of love, laughter, and most importantly, compassion. Oh, and food adventures and karaoke!
