Please respond to your invitation by December 1st
The ceremony begins at 4:00, and guests may start arriving from 3:30.
Please do! We chose the caterer specifically for their ability to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions, and they will be prepared to create a special meal for you if we let them know in advance. In fact, the wedding will be entirely free of gluten, wheat, and shellfish due to the bride's allergies!
Cocktail hour at 4:30 will include passed hor d'ovres. Sit-down dinner will be served at 5:30. Dessert will begin at 7:00 and include various cake and cookie options, alongside coffee and tea.
Free parking is available at the Tavares Public Works Department building on Disston Avenue or at Wooton Park on East Ruby Street. A short walk is necessary to reach the venue, but there is a lovely area in front of the venue to drop people off.
No transportation is provided, but there are several hotels within walking distance of the venue. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held in the same building.
While there is a short walk on the pier to reach the building, a wheelchair will be available if needed. Once inside, there are elevators for traversing between the first and second floors and chairs will be available at all times for those who cannot stand for extended periods. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are also located on each floor.
We are having a child-free wedding, and due to limited capacity we are only able to accommodate those who are specifically listed on your invitation.
Our venue is a lovely historic two-story building that sits on Lake Dora! It is adjacent to a park we stroll every year to look at Christmas lights, and we knew we wanted to consider it from the first year we saw it together. The glass wall overlooking the lake was enough to entice the groom, while the bride fell in love with the grand staircase and antique woodworking throughout the building.
The dress code is black tie optional; evening gowns, cocktail dresses, tuxedos, and suits are all welcome.
Florida can have unpredictable weather, with Tavares typically being in the high 40s to mid 70s at the end of January! To keep everyone comfortable whether it turns out to be 90 degrees and sunny or 40 degrees and pouring rain, all of the day's events will be held indoors with air conditioning or heat depending on the weather.
