The Maroon Bells are some of the most photographed peaks in all of North America — and for good reason. Composed of an unusual sedimentary mudstone rock, the snow-striped and uniquely colored peaks rise above 14,000 feet in elevation, crowning a picturesque valley dotted with lakes and braided by streams.
There are trails all over Aspen ranging from easy to hard. The grottos trail and trails along maroon bells are suggested.
