6/29 Aufruf/Shabbat Saturday Morning Services At Morristown Jewish Center

Shacharit/morning services start at 9:30. Torah service begins around 10:15 Kiddush/light lunch will follow services An aufruf is a traditional Jewish ceremony prior to the wedding where the groom is called to the Torah for a blessing called an aliyah. When the blessing is completed, the entire congregation wishes them luck and happiness by throwing soft candies at them.

For those who will be joining us for Shabbat:

Friday Evening 6:15 p.m., Kabbalat Shabbat Services at the Morristown Jewish Center. (Shabbat begins at 8:15 p.m.) 7:30 p.m. The Weinstein-Dickstein family invites out of town guests and family for Shabbat Dinner at the Morristown Jewish Center. Please RSVP to Stephanie and Marc at 732-512-7363 or rabbisad@aol.com. Shabbat dinner will be meat. Please let us know if you need vegetarian food, gluten free or other particular diet. Shabbat morning A light breakfast will be available for guests at the Hyatt in our hospitality room. 9:30 a.m. Shabbat morning services at the Morristown Jewish Center. Asher and Stephanie’s Aufruf (wedding blessing from the congregation) will be during the Torah Service, around 10 a.m. 12:00 noon (approximately) Kiddush Lunch for all guests, friends and the congregation. Shabbat afternoon Rest, hang out in the hospitality suite and walk around the interesting sites of historic Morristown. An informal seudah shlisheet (third meal of Shabbat) will be available. 9:24 p.m. Shabbat ends and we will make Havdalah together.
