We absolutely love going on food tours in new cities! It is a great way to enjoy local cuisine, drinks, explore neighborhoods, and learn some history. Trip Advisor and Viator have plenty of reviews to pick the right tour for your group.
Sintra is unbelievably beautiful and has awesome historical sites to visit and the most colorful castle we have seen! We recommend visiting Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira (mysterious giant hole included) if you only have the afternoon to explore. Sintra is easy to get to via train from Lisbon. It is quite hilly so wear appropriate shoes and clothing. If you get too tired to walk up or down from the castle, there are cabs and golf carts to get you to the train. Restaurant in Sintra: Tascantiga (our favorite), Incomum, Romaria de Baco, Apeadeiro
