-Call your cell phone provider to let them know when you will be traveling and need your international day pass ($10/day for major providers, can use phone as you would at home) -Check which credit and debit cards have no/low international fees -Call your bank to let them know you will be traveling internationally so they don't lock your acount -Take pictures of your passport and email to yourself and anyone you are traveling with

What should I pack?

-International power adapter, we suggest one that is a surge protector with several plugs/USB ports -Dual voltage hair tools if you plan to do your hair! -Prescriptions and any medicines you take regularly (Advil, Tums, etc) -Comfortable walking shoes Don't worry too much, if you have your passport, phone, wallet, and prescriptions you can buy anything you forget in Portugal!

How do I survive this long flight?

Answer

-HYDRATE!! Drink plenty of water before and during your flight -Pack a few easy snacks in case you don't like the food on your flight -Get comfortable: wear comfortable clothes and all airlines will give you a pillow and blanket, consider bringing your own travel pillow, foot hammock, and eye mask (see Michelle's favorites below!) -Compression socks to keep your feet from swelling -Take your favorite sleep aid -All flights will have many movies and TV shows, bring your noise cancelling headphones (with a cord) or if you want to be wireless, bring a bluetooth adapter -Bring a book, puzzles, and download podcasts, movies and shows from Spotify/Netflix/Hulu

-HYDRATE!! Drink plenty of water and add electrolyte packets -Make dinner plans to ensure that you don't fall asleep early -Try to stay awake until your normal bedtime -Take a sleeping aid (Benadryl, Unisom, melatonin) and magnesium before bed to get a full night sleep
