For the history buffs! Jefferson and Charlottesville are almost synonymous. Worth an afternoon visit!
An iconic part of the UVA campus and great for photos while you wander “the lawn” where students have lived and studied for decades. Go Hoo’s!
We’ve only begun to explore the trails here. It does require a park pass or $15 a car, but definitely worth it if you have the time. There are plenty of day hikes. Some of our favorites are Hawksbill, Bearfence, and Dark Hollow Falls.
There are so many great wineries around Charlottesville but this is one of our favorites!
Another great winery with free polo matches on Sundays!
Quintessential Charlottesville experience is the Sunset Series on Carter Mountain. The whole town comes out to listen to live music and catch up on Thursday evenings during the summer. Plus their apple cider donuts are delicious.
This and its smaller sister café (Petit Marie Bette) are Morgan's favorite places to grab pastries — maybe stop by before your trip home?
Highly recommend checking out the farmer’s market on Saturday morning. The food is delicious and it’s a block from the downtown mall so you can wander around there after you get your fill of samples!
Plenty of shopping and restaurants! Splendoras (gelato via delivery now), Jack Brown’s (deep fried oreos) and Alley Light (speakeasy) are some of our favorites
There are 3 locations in Charlottesville; that’s how much people love their bagels. A bit overhyped, but we’d be remiss not to include it on the list.
