Planning to fly?
Check flights into and out of Oakland (OAK) as well as San Francisco (SFO). Oakland is closer to Berkeley, and usually has cheaper flight options, but both airports work well, and have good public transit options into the city, or to Berkeley.

There are lots of public transit options (BART, Muni, Waymo, and ride-share) for getting around the Bay Area. The other option is to rent a car.
