FAQs

Question

What’s included at an all inclusive resort ?

Answer

The rate you pay to stay at Secrets the Vine includes the room, all meals and snacks, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, activities and entertainment on the property, fitness classes and non-motorized water sports. A carefree experience awaits where wristbands, reservations and limitations don’t exist! Please note that some activities will require an additional fee such as spa services or private tours and excursions.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Since this is an international trip, you do need a passport valid at least 6+ months past your travel dates. Passport cards are not valid for international air travel. If you have a passport, be sure to check the expiration date. If you don't already have a passport, it is a good idea to apply early to be sure you receive it in time for your trip. Passports normally take 4-6 weeks to process.

Question

When should I book my flight?

Answer

The ideal time is usually 2-8 months out. We suggest shopping around through Hopper, Kayak, GoogleFlights, Skyscanner, and local airlines for best rates.

Question

Which airport do I fly into?

Answer

All guests will need to fly into the Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Question

How do I get from the airport to the resort?

Answer

The resort is located 11 miles from Cancun International Airport. The best and most efficient way to travel to and from the airport is to book the shuttle service. Shuttle or Private transportation to and from the airport will be available for you to add onto your trip when you book

Question

Can I bring kids?

Answer

Secrets The Vine is an adults only resort, which means that no children under the age of 18 are permitted on site. If you need to bring your little ones, the family friendly Hard Rock resort is steps away.

Question

Can I have a plus 1?

Answer

This is a tricky one! We understand that traveling alone may be scary and to cut travel and hotel expenses you are more than welcome to bring a guest with you to enjoy Mexico! However they wont be able to attend the wedding events. While we'd love to welcome everyone to our wedding ceremony and reception, due to guest list limitations and event constraints, we are only accommodating primary invitees and those specifically given plus ones. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Should I bring money for tips?

Answer

Your resort fee has built-in tips for the staff, so while you are not obligated to tip, we recommend to bring at least $100 per guest for tips. Typically tips ($1-$10) USD are encouraged to show appreciation for shuttle drivers, bartenders, waitstaff, cleaning staff, tour guides and spa staff.

Question

Can I stay at a neighboring resort and still attend the wedding?

Answer

We strongly encourage you to stay at the wedding resort because it will enable you to socialize with family and friends during your entire stay. For security purposes, non-resort guests are not allowed on the property outside of the wedding festivities. If you choose to stay at an alternative resort, you will only be able to attend the wedding activities

Question

What if I can’t attend?

Answer

We completely understand, just let us know! Our sincerest hope is that no one feels guilty, as you must make the best decision for your family, prior obligations, and your budget. You will be met with total understanding and love from both of us. We can celebrate together back in Jersey when we get home!
