We met through a combination of a mutual friend, and his sister. A friend invited me for a "night out with the girls" to get me out of the house. I didn't feel like going, but decided I would go anyways, where I met Roodley's sister, Kelley. One of the first things she said to me was "I need to hook you up with my brother". Not knowing her, or her brother, my initial reaction was "absolutely not". A few weeks later, I received a text from our mutual friend suggesting that I give this young brother in her congregation a chance. She described him as being a sweet, spiritual, and stable young man. At first I was hesitant, but before I could give her a response she informed me that she had already given him my number and to expect a text from him in the days to come. A few days went by until I received a message from him saying "Hey, it's Roodley. Ashley's Friend". Both of our initial thoughts were, "This might last a week". After a week of talking everyday and late into the night, he asked to take me out to dinner. We went on a double date with our mutual friend, and her husband, and stayed until the restaurant closed. As soon as we said our goodbyes , I got in the car and called my best friend telling her how much I enjoyed our date and how "he might be the one", and, with Jehovah's blessing, he was! Roodley and I are so grateful for all of the support we've received from our friends and families during the course of relationship, and we can't wait to have everyone share in our big day! :)
