FAQs

If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please call or text Stephanie at 618-581-3201 or Joe at 314-258-3742
Question

What should I RSVP by?

Answer

September 10, 2026. All final counts MUST be given to the caterer by the given deadline, no exceptions. We understand that things come up, so if you need to change your RSVP after the deadline, please change it on this site and call or text Stephanie at 618-581-3201.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Children are more than welcome at the ceremony. For the reception, only those children included in the ceremony and/or on the invitations can be included in the festivities due to seating and/or budget constraints. We do hope you understand and should this pose a challenge that keeps you from being able to attend the reception, please let us know so we can determine if an accommodation can be made.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We don't expect you to attend by yourself unless you want to. If we know you as a single person, not in a relationship, or we don't know your companion's name, your invitation should have been addressed to you "and guest." If we know that you are in a relationship and know your significant other's name, it should have been addressed to both of you. If you are unable to RSVP for you and your guest, or your name cannot be found, please call or text Stephanie at 618-581-3201. Technology isn't always perfect!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

YES! Please, please, please let us know if you have any food allergies, sensitivities, or other possible health concerns surrounding food. It would be rude of us to make assumptions, and we want you to be able to fully enjoy all aspects of our celebration. We do know that the menu will have foods that are suitable for vegetarian and gluten-sensitive guests.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, our venue does include an open bar. The one exclusion is that they do not make or serve shots. For those who do not drink alcohol, there are plenty of soft drink choices as well as coffee and water available throughout the evening. We want you to enjoy yourselves at our wedding. If you do plan to drink, please have a designated driver or take an Uber or Lyft home. There is also a hotel block at the Fairfield Inn & Suites South, and there are a number of AirBnB's near Royale Orleans. To book a room in our hotel block, please visit the "Travel" page of our website.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal or cocktail attire are fine. If you like to wear formal attire, go right ahead!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Seating will begin at 3:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, free parking for both. See below: Ceremony: The Jefferson Barracks Powder Magazine Museum has an accessible parking lot adjacent to the building and there are a few Disabled Parking spots available as well, parallel to the sidewalk. There are no steps from the lot to the patio at the back of the museum, where the ceremony will take place. The parking lot is slightly sloped, so be aware of that. Please note: Seating will begin during the last 30 minutes that the Powder Magazine Museum is open, so there may be museum guests parked in the lot. Reception: Royale Orleans has a large parking lot that wraps around the side of the building. Keep in mind that ours will not be the only reception happening there that evening. Street parking is available on Telegraph Road if the lot is full.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We do have a room block at the Fairfield Inn & Suites South at Hwy. 55 and Butler Hill Road. The rate is $169 per night and the block will be held until September 2. To make a reservation, mention that the room block is under the name Stephanie Sorden.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

No, there will not be a "wedding-weekend" bustling with events, just the ceremony and cocktail hour/reception. The exception is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Anyone involved in those events will be notified accordingly.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered at Amazon, Target, and Wal-Mart. You can search on the individual websites, or there is a link to each registry on the "Registry" page of our website.
