We love this area because of the many quaint towns that offer their own specialities and activities. If you're interested in stretching your legs outside of Wimberely, check out these surrounding towns: Fredericksburg: Texas wine country - home to over 100 wineries and vineyards, German grub, great Main Street shopping Gruene: Historic town known for live music, antiques, and shopping. Has the oldest dance hall in Texas. New Braunsfels is nearby with the Comal and Guadalupe rivers if you want to dunk your toes! San Marcos: Our charming college town known for the country's largest outlet mall, a historic downtown square, and tons of waterways to kayak, paddleboard or float on.
