Best place in the city to dig for records and absorb Seattle's iconic music history! Located in the heart of Matt & Steph's neighborhood, West Seattle.
From the downtown ferry terminal, you can take the water taxi to West Seattle (https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/travel-options/water-taxi/west-seattle), which is our neck of the woods. Marination is Hawaiian-casual restaurant with an iconic patio, located at the pier where the water taxi lands. Our personal go-to is the Sexy Tofu Tacos (asked to veganize). Even if you're not hungry it's also a great place to enjoy a beverage and take in the sights. If you're feeling adventurous you can rent kayaks here as well. There is also a green belt that heads north to infamous Alki Beach (about 1.5 mile walk oneway).
Seattle is known for coffee. But please, skip the Starbucks and support small businesses. Olympia is by far the best. There are a few shops around the city and we are lucky enough to have one in West Seattle. Matt's go to is the Trifecta with the Sweetheart single origin espresso. It comes with a shot of espresso, a soda back, a cortado (with oatmilk, duh) and a small drip coffee. They also have delicious vegan and gluten free pastries from Wildflour Bakery (https://www.wildflourglutenfree.com/).
Out of all the touristy things to do in the city, the view from the Space Needle is epic, especially around twilight. The views of the glowing skyline and shimmering water as the sun melts over the Olympics are breathtaking. You can book tickets ahead online or just walk up and purchase from the kiosks at the base of the Space Needle.
Our favorite Vietnamese fusion in the greater Seattle area. 10/10.
A rad pitstop for a cold one just beyond the ferry terminal.
Confirmed fantastic cocktails with supposedly equally-fantastic seafood on the island.
Delish Neapolitan-style pizza in downtown Bainbridge
Globally inspired vegetarian & vegan dishes are the draw at this casual spot with outdoor tables.
