US National White Water Center
The Whitewater Center is an outdoor center comprised of over 1,300 acres of protected land with 50 miles of trail and access to the Catawba River and Long Creek. It offers recreational activities such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock-climbing, high-ropes, mountain biking, and trail hiking. In addition, there’s plenty of great food and drink options, usually accompanied by live music. This is one of our favorite spots and we never miss it when we’re in town! Great for all ages and any length of time 😊 All Day Access Passes for adults cost $75/day. Tickets for individual activities available at a lower cost.
The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten
The Southend Brewery District is Kyle’s favorite spot in town. It offers a number of lively breweries with great beer, food, and atmosphere. Our favorite is OMB (a Bravarian-style brewery), but other options include Brewers at 4001 Yancey, Sugar Creek Brewing Company, Lower Left Brewing Co., and for any non-beer drinkers looking to check out the area, Queen Park Social.
Crowders Mountain
Another great option for our outdoorsy guests is Crowder's Mountain. There are two hiking trails up to the top (4-mile or 6-mile roundtrip). Both offer a great view or the Carolina mountains! No entrance fee :)
NASCAR Hall of Fame
A great indoor option. Enjoy amazing artifacts, interactive exhibits, simulator rides and special events at the High Octane Theater. General admission for adults starts at $25/day.
Carowinds
Carowinds is our local 105-acre theme park. It offers over 70 thrill rides, including roller-coasters and water rides, along with live entertainment. Adult tickets cost $45/day.
SouthPark Mall
SouthPark is an upscale shopping district that can provide all your shopping needs!
Amélie's French Bakery & Café
A local favorite for sweet treats. Pick yourself out a delicious pastry and then explore the NoDa Arts Distrct.
