Kyle and Stephanie met in Clemson, SC on Kyle's 23rd birthday. Kyle was in the 5th year of his engineering degree at Clemson University. Stephanie was teaching an anatomy lab class, while applying to medical school. They hit it off from their first conversation, but were hesitant to get into a relationship, knowing they were both headed to different cities (Kyle to Charleston, SC to start his first engineering job and Stephanie to Orlando to begin medical school at University of Central Florida) the following year. However, as the year progressed, they realized they were falling in love and decided to give a long-distance relationship a chance. 4 years later, they are still making it work! Kyle travels a lot for work and Stephanie has a busy schedule in medical school, but they travel to each other often and cherish every moment they have together.

Kyle and Stephanie had plans to go to Paris for Christmas 2020. However, with the pandemic still limiting travel, they decided to change course and head for Denver, Colorado instead. After a magical day in downtown Denver at Christmastime, Kyle proposed at the Christmas market. Stephanie was stunned, and blurted out, "Yes! Are you sure? Yes!" before Kyle could even give the speech he prepared. They spent a few days in Denver soaking in their engagement together, before Stephanie's family met them in Breckenridge to join in the celebration. It was the most wonderful and snow-filled Christmas engagement Stephanie could have ever imagined!
