Sunday River Golf Club
If you didn't get a chance to play in the tournament on Friday, we have a few T time booked for Saturday let us know if you would like to play! One of the most spectacular and scenic courses in New England, featuring 18 breathtaking holes that wind through the Maine woods and over dramatic elevation changes in a stunning mountainside setting.
Horseback riding
Steph loves horses so it wouldn't be a complete list without some horseback riding option! she even asks if she could arrive by horse at the ceremony, but we figured it would be hard to put one in the gondola!
Western Maine Hiking
Sunday River is the perfect basecamp to access the best hiking in Western Maine, with nearby mountains and state parks offering everything from challenging backpacking trips to top family hikes and nature walks. All hikes listed here are located within 20 minutes of Sunday River and Bethel.
Scenic Lift ride
While you will be able, or need to ride the lift for a wedding, you might want to go up another time or Friday to take in the view and walk around at the top. Escape to the mountains and take a ride up to the top of North Peak on our Chondola for sweeping views of the Sunday River Valley and Mahoosuc Mountains, including the third highest peak in Maine, Old Speck. On the way up, you can choose to ride on an open chair or in an enclosed gondola cabin.
Mountain Biking
Bethel, Maine is quickly growing as a mountain bike destination, offering easy access to a number of new trail networks and riding options locally as well as the expansive Coos Trails system just 30 minutes away in Gorham, NH. Riders of all abilities will find fun trails and terrain in the area.
Swimming holes
I had to put that one in for my dad as he loves a cold plunge! Dive on into the cold, crisp mountain waters of the recommended swimming holes on our namesake, the Sunday River.
