Also known as the GEB at UTHSC. We met at medical school orientation. This was the first (and probably only time) Stefanie has ever pronounced a name correctly on the first try which impressed Taylor. Throughout orientation week we became fast friends, not knowing what adventures lay ahead!
Even though we were good friends, there was something more between us. Despite many hours studying at the library, we still enjoyed and wanted to spend more time with each other. Eventually talking about relationships, we went on our first date to the Majestic in Memphis, TN and eventually started dating after the UT/Bama game of 2016.
Upon graduation of medical school, life threw us a wrench. Taylor went to UTSW in Dallas, Tx and Stefanie was initially in Shreveport, LA then San Antonio, Tx. Despite the distance, we made an effort see each other once a month, enjoying every weekend we got see each other
Taylor applied and matched into a NICU fellowship, landing him into San Antonio with Stefanie. We were able to spend two years together and finally not long distance. Despite long hours of residency and fellowship, we were able to have the comfort of being with our person. We also were joined by our two kitties, Iris and Muse
Life continued to throw unexpected twists and hardships with the Air Force sending Stefanie to Alaska. Though this new move was difficult, ultimately it showed that we cannot live without each other. Taylor proposed to Stefanie on the Ruth Glacier just below the Mt Denali on a picturesque day with beautiful ice covered peaks against light blue skies.
