The ceremony and reception will be held at "Steep Little Hill", in the backyard of our home in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania.
The name "Steep Little Hill" comes from the meaning of Andrew's last name, "Brathovde," which roughly translates to "steep little hill" in Norwegian. When we bought our house a few months ago, we instantly fell in love with the land and its peacefulness. Coincidentally, it came with an actual steep little hill in the backyard! We felt this name was not only a nod to Andrew's heritage but also a perfect description of our new home. "Steep Little Hill" holds a special place in our hearts, not just because it's our first home together, but also because it's a meaningful space where we plan to celebrate our most important moments with friends and family—starting with our wedding. It’s our favorite venue!
The dress code is semi-formal, garden party inspired. Keep in mind this is a backyard wedding, so plan your shoe attire accordingly.

A shuttle will be arranged to transport guests from the Hampton Inn Shrewsbury to the venue, and back. Due to limited parking at our home, we kindly ask all guests to take the shuttle regardless if they are staying over night. There is very limited street parking available for out-of-town guests. We request that all guests park at the hotel (Hampton Inn Shrewsbury) and take the wedding shuttle to Steep Little Hill. Transportation company and departure times will be announced closer to the date.
Absolutely! We’re happy to welcome your little ones, especially for our out-of-town guests. That said, the wedding will have an open bar, some epic millennial throwback tunes, and plenty of adult-focused fun. So, if you can swing it, we highly encourage making it a date night and letting loose—no diaper changes or bedtime routines required! 😉
Save the Dates were sent out at the end of September. Formal wedding invitations will be sent out 2-3 months prior to the wedding date. Formal guest RSVPs and dietary preferences will be collected digitally after invitations are sent.
Don’t worry, we’ve got it covered—literally! If Mother Nature decides to shower us with some luck, we’ll simply move the ceremony into the reception tent, keeping everyone dry and the party going strong. Rain or shine, it’s going to be magical!
