Yay, youâre here! Weâre so excited to have you along on this incredible adventure as we get ready to say âI do!â This website is our little love nest on the internet, where youâll find all the details you need for the big day (and all the fun leading up to it!).
We met at work about six years ago, during a tech training Emily was facilitating. To keep participants engaged, she brought pipe cleanersâsimple tools for restless hands. Andrew saw more than a distraction; he saw an opportunity. At the end of the session, he left behind a small pipe cleaner butterfly for Emily to find. She did. She was charmed. She threw it away. (Heâs still recovering.) Determined not to let the story end there, Andrew struck up a conversation with Emily at the office coffee station. Emily panickedâshe had no idea who he was. Her immediate thought? âWho the heck is this guy?â But from that moment on, names were exchanged, and a true workplace triumph was secured. We quickly became friends, bonding over egg pita sandwiches, questionable office coffee, and a shared love of dry humor. Lunch breaks turned into long walks, inside jokes, and endless excuses to spend time together. Then the world shut down. We stayed connectedâlate-night Zoom calls, laughter over pixelated screens, and a growing sense that something more was quietly unfolding. After eight months apart, we finally reunited at Elk Neck State Parkâhalfway between where we were living at the time: Emily in Pennsylvania, Andrew in Virginia. We wandered the trails, collected shells, admired exactly one lighthouse, and stretched out our goodbye. It took Andrew just long enough to gather the nerve to steal a first kiss. From there, our story only grew.
We got engaged at Great Falls National Parkâone of our favorite early date spots. Expecting nothing more than a relaxed day outdoors with our dog, Emily had no idea what was coming. Andrew, however, had carefully orchestrated the moment. He suspiciously skipped the first of the three scenic waterfall overlooks and led us straight to the secondâwhere a hidden photographer was waiting. Right there, in front of the rushing falls, Andrew got down on one knee. Emily immediately burst into joyful, unfiltered tears, while a crowd of strangers gathered, unsure whether to cheer or quietly back away. We both completely blacked out from the excitementâI donât remember exactly what I said, but Iâm fairly certain it included the word âyes.â As if the surprise proposal wasnât enough, Emilyâs family and some of our closest friendsâwho had all been in on the planâwere waiting nearby to celebrate. It was a day beyond anything we could have imagined: unexpectedly perfect, beautifully planned, and overflowing with love. Weâre so grateful it was captured... because it truly was better than anything I could've ever imagined!
