Matron of Honor
Sarah was lucky when, in 2003, her older brother fell in love with one of the best people on Earth. For example, Maegan put 13 layers of wrapping paper on the first birthday gift she gave Sarah to make up for the twelve previous birthdays she missed. From putting up with junior high Sarah third-wheeling on dates to letting high school Sarah third-wheel while creating her own wedding register, Maegan has truly become Sarah's sister through the years. She helped Sarah learn how to drive, and allowed her house to become Sarah's second home when college became frustrating (or when laundry needed to be done). Mae completed Sarah's family when she joined it in 2008, and has been so supportive through the wedding planning process!

Growing up, Sarah always wanted a little sister. However, it wasn't until her junior year of college that she finally received one! Ashton was assigned to be Sarah's "Little" in their sorority, and the two quickly bonded. After all, if you have matching Chacos, you are destined to be best friends. They put their Chacos to good use on a trip with Sarah's dad to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks, having many heart-to-heart talks while hiking and sharing a double-sized bed (for two weeks - Dad said it helped save money). Ashton has an energy that is bright and contagious, a quick wit, and she always brings her best dance moves to any occasion!

Sometimes you don't always remember the specific moment you meet someone who will become an incredibly dear friend, but you do come to realize that their presence make gatherings more fun, and life much happier. Kenna and Sarah met in high school through their mutual friend Sam (who is marrying McKenna in December!). The girls were both in band, shared a love for Irish Music Night at the local coffee shop, and were lucky enough to have a similar sense of humor. Even after graduation, Kenna was a wonderful constant in Sarah's life, offering a listening ear and a good meal when needed. Over the last two years, they both embarked on the adventure of teaching and have grown even closer!

Destiny and Sarah "met" in the summer of 2009 on a website created for incoming Honors College freshmen at the University of Central Arkansas. They made grand plans to go on double dates with their guys...until both couples broke up before the start of the school year! Sharing stories over ice cream and The Avett Brothers songs led to a new friendship. Destiny is someone who always has her friends' backs, celebrating every achievement. She is also an anchor when times are tough. Once, when Sarah and Brandon temporarily broke up because of the distance, Destiny let Sarah stay at her apartment while still encouraging her to have faith that things would work out with Brandon. Anyone lucky enough to know Destiny knows that finding a better friend than her is a hard task.

Michelle and Sarah met while applying for the same Missionary Fellowship in 2013. Always maintaining a warm acquaintance, their friendship needed a little watering before it blossomed. A typhoon's worth of water, to be exact - both Sarah and Michelle found themselves caught in Hurricane Glenda during a trip to the Philippines. A camp-out during a typhoon tends to bring kindred spirits together, and Michelle's calm humor kept everyone afloat while taking sleep rotations over the next day. Once everyone was stateside several years later, a week-long Grand Canyon roadtrip during Holy Week proved that some relationships forged during sleep deprivation and spotty access to fresh water lead to lifelong friendships.

If you think a college-level "Principles of Government" class sounds boring, you never experienced the one that Sarah and Jilli sat through in 2010 during Sarah's sophomore year and Jillian's freshman year. The class was horrendous, but experiencing it side-by-side led to study sessions that turned into a friendship. The two roomed together Sarah's Junior and Senior years at UCA, and it was one of the best decisions Sarah ever made. From dinosaur pajamas and Korean drama watch parties to marching at the state capital together, Jilli's warmth and wonderful laugh have been highlights of their friendship. Her quick thinking allows her to see the world the way it is, and her hopeful spirit dares others to dream of the world the way it could be, bringing out the best in those around her.

Sarah and Ayse Gizem met in 2008, when Ayse Gizem spent a year studying in America after graduating from high school in Turkey. A bus ride to an away game gave the girls time to compare iPods, and a shared love of music began the foundation for this friendship. Sarah loved showing Ayse parts of American and Arkansan culture, and Ayse Gizem returned the favor in 2012, when Sarah spent her summer traveling Turkey with her. Ayse Gizem has a brilliant smile, and an even more brilliant mind. After graduating from two different Masters programs, Ayse is currently working on her Doctorate in Paris. This may prevent her from attending the wedding, but whether she attends in person or in spirit, she is an important part of Sarah's life.
