Question

Do I need any special documents to travel to Scotland?

Answer

Starting 2025, the UK will require US visitors to obtain an "Electronic Travel Authorization." This can be done online through the below link. This will cost about $28. You should be able to apply and get a decision within a week. This will be good for up to 2 years after obtaining. You will need your reference number upon arrival in Scotland going through customs. Please reach out if you have questions. https://www.gov.uk/eta

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are requesting that all guests wear formal attire. For men, suits please but kilts optional ha! For women, mid-long cocktail dresses, evening gowns, or sophisticated jumpsuits. This will be outside, weather dependent. Ladies be mindful that there will be a walk across grass before ceremony and cocktail hour in garden grass prior to arriving at the floored reception. Chunky block heels an or flats recommended.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Summer in Scotland is not too toasty- averages of 65F, but evening lows in the 50s. Also it is reasonable to expect rain, but we hear this is good luck!

Question

Can I bring a guest or my children?

Answer

While we understand this trip is a big undertaking and we love your loved ones, our venue has certain size constraints. As you're welcome to travel with whoever you choose, please respect the invite as specifically listed for wedding events!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive 10 mins prior to the start time if coming on your own.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We know this is earlier than traditional timelines, but thus is the Scottish way. Please kindly RSVP 3 months prior to the wedding day May 22.
