Right after his 30th birthday, Grant - ever the strategist - decided he wanted to give online dating due diligence in January 2018. Ten weeks and thirty women later, he was exhausted. And then he met Ashley. After some text exchanges, Grant asked Ashley out only to find that she lived in Iowa but was "aspirationally dating". She aspired to live in Nashville and to find her perfect match there! That didn't stop Grant! He felt there was real potential in this budding relationship and chose to fly up to Polk County to see if it was the real deal in person. Clearly, it was!
The Starretts and the Hoffs had plans to meet for the first time and spend Thanksgiving 2019 together in East TN. At dawn on Thanksgiving, Grant and Ashley hiked up the peak trail at Blackberry Mountain overlooking the majestic Smoky Mountains. With her grandma's ring, Grant asked Ashley to be his best friend, partner, and wife for the rest of their lives. She said YES!!!! With photographer in tow, the couple reunited with both sets of parents for family photos and memories they'll cherish forever.
Despite our original plans being turned upside down, Grant and Ashley still decided to "tie the knot" on their original wedding date. With only our parents in attendance, we were married by our pastor and friend, Brandon Eggar at the church on the Hermitage property. We are grateful and joyful to have had this special day with our families. Now we are ready to celebrate with y'all!!!
