Eric proposed on November 24, 2019 on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. 

He proposed on “Lover’s Bench”, which sits at the base of the Davie Poplar, a 300-year old tulip poplar. According to alumni legend, a couple who kisses on the bench will marry.
